Twelve days before my due date, thirty-eight weeks and two days pregnant and I can't wait to have this baby! The wait is killing me! Aside from being excited to see my little boy, I am just so tired of having to sleep on my side, roll out of bed (literally), and waddle from one point to another. I am just so heavy. 

Patience isn't one of my strongest traits, that's why I became a surgeon (but that's another story), and waiting for this baby is one of the hardest tests I had to take. I just can't wait to put him in his cute onesies, and push him around on his brand new stroller and drive around with him in his carseat and show him off to relatives and friends and break the internet with tons of pictures of him...you know...well anyway, I don't think he's ready to come out yet. 

I've already cleaned everything, washed all his things, and packed my hospital bag (more than two weeks ago fyi), oh, and I've read almost all mommy blogs and websites there is....and yes, I did read a part of my old OB book because someone told me to read it again so I'd know if I'll be in labor (and because I'm a geek like that). I also started doing yoga again so I can listen to my body more and know if it's time. I've done so many things that I thought I'll be giving birth this July but I guess not yet, besides,I still have 5 more days until the end of the month, and I'm not yet due until the first week of August, so I guess I have more waiting to do...and more waddling. 

I've been talking to my baby a lot lately, asking him if he's ready to come out but I'd usually get a kick on the liver or a squirm, so I guess not yet, it's still cozy inside for him. Because of the anticipation, I keep forgetting that everything will happen in the right time, all in God's perfect timing. So a few days ago I've decided to just wait and pray, and be ready, and one day, when God says it's time, then it's time. 

    The first thing I did was to remove everything that is not needed anymore, in my case, my medical books. Yes, I graduated from Med school some 8 years ago, and still haven't cleared my room of my medical books, well, simply because I'm a pack rat, plus...the sentimental value! But  since after finding out I'm going to be a mommy, I've been obsessing about getting rid of all the "trash" in my room...so, finally I did (except for the surgical books of course). I also threw out my notes from residency and my specialty board review (I make mean notes you know hehe), and managed to cramp all my CDs and cassettes in a small space. My closet was also cleaned out and I removed old clothes and clothes that I think I'll never wear again. Oh, and my shoes, yes, I got rid of about half of them...If I can throw out almost everything just so I can have more that enough space for the little bunny's baby gear I would. I now have an "ukay-ukay" sac. 

      I managed to empty shelves for some of the baby things, but my closets aren't big enough to fit his baby things (yes, I have two closets full of clothes), so I just made space for when I get him his own cabinet/drawers (which I have to do this week). I already have a place where to set-up the crib (I have a bassinet/playard/changing table in one). Oh, and my office/study table? Is now free of clutter and only holds a laptop and my current journal, otherwise, it's ready for his books and other things. 

       My room is a giant dust trap. Well ,anyway, that being said, I dusted all the windows and screens and every corner of the room. I know dust will build up again before the baby gets here, so aside from me cleaning every other day, I plan on having someone clean the room and change the curtains while I'm at the hospital so it'll be clean when the baby and I gets home.

        Some studies say that to lessen the risk of SIDS, the room where the baby will be staying should be well-ventilated. Whether you have air conditioning or fans in your room, make sure they're clean and properly functioning. 

       A newborn will not be moving around the room that you have to cover the electric sockets already, but it's better that you are prepared. Have the electric sockets fixed if they need fixing, then go get some electric socket covers. 

Well, I guess that's just it for now, after doing all those things, you can now repaint your room or place wallpaper or decals to make it more baby friendly. A corner in your room dedicated to the baby would be nice, but don't forget that you will be living in that room too so don't forget to leave some space for yourself. 

Well, since this is my first blog post, I'd like not to bore you and would just like to welcome you to Mommy Stellar. This blog will be mostly about my adventures as a new mom, probably some product reviews and a lot more things that I would like to write about (I'll try to skip the dramas of life). 

Oh, and about me, I am a 32-year- old first time mom-to-be, currently in the third trimester of pregnancy, a General Surgeon by profession, a writer, a dreamer, and I used to call myself a wonder girl.

Now let's see if this wonder girl can wonder mom her way in raising a baby boy.
